Here at Veloce Laser Clinic we use the Quanta Plus laser tattoo removal equipment.  This equipment uses state of the art technology.  It uses short pulses of high energy light which helps protect the skin from overheating and targets the ink in fast bursts.

Our skin is made up of 3 layers as shown in the picture above.  When you have a tattoo the ink is injected into the dermis layer which lays below the epidermis (our top layer).  The dermis layer of skin contains tough connective tissues along with different cells and glands.

The laser blasts the ink in the dermis layer, the ink then absorbs the light energy and shatters into smaller fragments.  Over the following weeks your body’s immune system kicks in and flushes out the broken down particles.  This leaves a lightened appearance on the previously tattooed skin.  Over the course of treatment more ink will be broken down until the tattoo has been removed. The image below sourced from Laser Tattoo Removal | Empire Beauty illustrates this perfectly.
